What is VPS ?
VDS - Virtual Private Server. It has all the qualities of a usual server. The difference is that the hardware resources are common for a few VDS. In other words one physical (non-virtual) server hosts a few VDS. Strong sides of FreeVPS:
- root access
- separate virtual disc: /dev/hdv1 with quota support
- dedicated IP address, eth0 interface with a possibility to add aliases
- own iptables filtration and routing rules table and tun/tap devices
- Separate RAM and SWAP accounting
